Come on out and ride with us through the beautiful gentle rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio's Appalachian Region.  We will ride to the top of one of the highest points in Guernsey County.  The view is absolutely amazing, as you look over the miles and miles of beautiful scenery.
Spring brings the arrival of new babies in the wild!  Maybe you will be able to enjoy the sights on horseback!
Children as young as 6 yrs old can ride their own horse on the trail.  Children 5 yrs and under/ under 45lbs. are permitted to ride double, with a parent or guardian over the age of 18.  Absolutely no double riding with 2 adults will be permitted, nor will we permit 2 children to ride double at any time.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL RIDES ARE GUIDED DUE TO INSURANCE REGULATIONS.  WE ARE UNABLE TO PERMIT ANYONE TO RIDE AT ANY TIME WITHOUT ONE OF OUR EXPERIENCED GUIDES

DOUBLE RIDER FEES               $6.00
Don't let having little ones along on vacation ruin the fun of riding, we gladly welcome
double riding of children under 5 yrs of age.  To our knowledge, we are the ONLY facility
that offers this service.
NOTE: The child and the adult must comfortably fit in the same saddle in order to permit a "double rider".  We are limited to 3-4 larger saddles which will comfortably accommodate 2 persons.  It isn't always the issue of weight of the child, rather the sizes of the riders.

HAND LED PONY RIDES            $5.00
Consists of approximately 10 minutes with one of our staff guiding your little cowboy/cowgirl on one of our trusty horses or ponies!
Of course adults are more than welcome to enjoy a pony ride also if you aren't real sure about the whole trail ride thing!

HELMET RENTALS                    $2.00
Limited number of helmets available for rental
First come first serve, if you have your own, you are welcome to bring it with you.  Rental fees are used exclusively to replace and update the quality of all of our helmets.
We can not guarantee that we have the correct size or numbers of head gear available for your entire group.
All headgear is ASTM-SEI safety approved.
Helmets are not mandatory, but we do recommend them for the safety of the children.

ALL RATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

In order to best accommodate the numbers of visitors we have on a regular basis, we only offer the 1 hour ride.  This allows time between rides for our horses to enjoy a well deserved rest period along with a nice cool drink.  It also allows us to stay on schedule and continue to offer at least 5 available rides per day.
Our horse's and their health are first and foremost during the hot summer temperatures and we sincerely hope you understand our position on this matter.

In order to make and secure a reservation, you will be asked for an address and telephone number for contact purposes.  This is largely due to the fact that we have turned too many customers away having had a full schedule booked, and those customers have failed to show or call and cancel.
This inconvenience is in no part our fault, but the fault of irresponsible persons who schedule appointments and fail to follow through.  We have also experienced a huge problem with our competitors making fictitious reservations in order to obtain business from those we turn away.

100% of all monies from horseback riding at Drafty Acres Riding Stable will be used to care for the many horses who were either thrown away by their owners or saved from shippping to slaughter from auctions. Many of the horses we use in our daily operations are also rescued horses who didn't have a chance until we stepped up to love them.  We are proud to announce to you, our rescue facility | Drafty Barn Farm Rescue,Inc.  Registered with the State of Ohio as a Not For Profit Organization.
Thank you for helping us help the many horses who are in need of assistance!
Due to a few unfortunate situations that have arisen, we have been forced to limit the use of cameras and recording devices at our facility in certain areas.  From time to time we house horses that are a vital part of legal proceedings.  We are bound to guarantee their safety while in our care.  Therefore, we will no longer allow the use of any type of photographic device within our barns for any reason.  You may take pictures outside of the immediate barn area, but not inside at any time.
THANK YOU in advance for your understanding of our position in this matter.
